What We Do

Our goal is to support people to live full and meaningful lives of their choosing.

pattern

This could mean supporting people with everyday things like preparing meals, looking after their health and personal needs, and going shopping. Or it could be helping people to learn new skills and meet new people or stay in touch with people who are already important to them.

Think about all the things you do to live your life – the list is long and varied. WinnServ helps people do these things, and the support looks different for everyone. It all depends on the person – what they need, what they want, and what they choose.

WinnServ supports people through all stages of their adult lives, from being a young adult to growing older and passing away. Over the years, WinnServ has developed expertise in supporting aging adults, supporting adults with intellectual disabilities who also have dementia, and providing in-home palliative care.

We offer supports through two primary service areas: Supported Independent Living and Residential Shift-Staffed Homes.

Supported Independent
Living

For adults living independently in homes of their own, we provide anywhere from 2 to 20 hours of support a week to help them with whatever they need to continue to be as independent as possible.

The Facts

Residential Shift-Staffed
Homes

People live with 2 or 3 roommates in houses in neighborhoods throughout the city of Winnipeg. Each person has their own bedroom and shares the common areas of the home with their roommates.

It is important to ensure a good roommate match in the Residential Shift-Staffed homes and that any accessibility needs are met well.

Support staff are on site 24 hours a day. The number of support staff available is determined by the support needs and goals of the people who live in the home.

The Facts

Families are surprised – and pleased – to hear of how much fun their family member had in our care!  How we got them involved with the community, how they had jobs, or how we put them on teams, or they took dance classes, Zumba classes, bowling, swimming…how they’re still a person.”
